The sword will never leave David's house

After David's sin against Uriah and Bathsheba, Nathan says the sword will never depart from his house and that someone close to David will lie with his wives in public. The following chapters record the death of the child, Amnon's rape of Tamar and murder by Absalom, and Absalom's rebellion and taking of David's concubines.
