I will never leave you nor forsake you

Moses and then the LORD himself promise Joshua that God will not leave or abandon him. Hebrews applies the promise to every believer, and adds Psalm 118's confidence that the LORD is my helper, I will not fear.

Hosanna: blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD

The Palm Sunday crowds greet Jesus with words from Psalm 118, a pilgrim psalm sung at Passover: 'Hosanna' (Save us) and 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD'. The gospels report this.
