Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree

Paul says Christ redeemed believers from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for them, and cites Deuteronomy's line that anyone hanged on a tree is under God's curse. Earlier in the same argument he quotes Deuteronomy's curse on those who do not keep the whole law.
